Cabernet Franc, Grolleau and Gamay
“A delicate strawberry-pink wine with attractive berry fruit flavours. This is a classic, well-balanced rosé from the vineyards around the Champteloup winery, south of Angers made from a blend of Grolleau, Cabernet Franc and Gamay grape varieties. Blended specially from a selection of the finest vats of the vintage by Serge de Bucy, Oenologist and Angela Muir, MW, to ensure a freshness of flavour and a pleasing combination of acidity and residual sweetness.”

Champteloup - Touraine

In 1938, Georges PIEAUX invested in his property of Chançay the first plots of vines "Appellation Vouvray AOC". Gérard and Lucien, his two sons, succeeded him in 1955.
Hanging on the Chançay rock for three generations, it is more precisely on the valley of Vaux and bordered by vines that the family estate of Margalleau watches over its 30 hectares of vines in the heart of the Vouvray Controlled Appellation of Origin. Each passage will have left a trace, a bit of history. Jean-Michel and Bruno PIEAUX took over the domain in 1995. They created and established their identity there.
With a constant reflection on the environment, they maintain a biodiversity throughout the vineyard thanks to daily observation of the plots and the implementation of cultivation methods in reasoned fight. For the two brothers, respecting the terroir proved to be obvious. The wines are refined. To see them sublimated from vintage to vintage allows to stay on the path taken. A frame appears in the two proposed ranges, which suggests that the wines are identifiable.

Margalleaux - Sparkling Demi-sec

Parlez Vous

Touraine is a huge wine area, just at the centre of the Loire Valley. It is also the place where you can find most of the famous Châteaux de la Loire.
This is an expressive Sauvignon Blanc with delicate floral and citrus notes on the nose. These carry through to the palate which is fresh with vibrant acidity and a long satisfying finish.
Vinified in our pressing room in the Touraine region. The grapes are chosen from carefully selected plots and pressed directly. The must is racked thoroughly and placed to ferment at very low temperature (14.C).
Towards the end of the fermentation process, when residual sugar reaches 2 g/l, sulphur is added to the wine. The wine is then aged on fine lees for 4 months, during which time the lees are regularly stirred. All transfers or processes carried out on the must or on the wine take place under CO2 protection, in order to preserve a maximum of aromas.
